Added sugars in the average North American diet come primarily from just five categories: non-diet soft drinks: 28% ; Candy and sprinkle-on sugar: 17% ; Cookies, cakes, sweet baked goods: 16% ; Ice cream, frozen/sweetened yogurt: 10% ; Sweetened fruit drinks and iced tea: 8%
