A study published in Lancet Oncology reported that changes in our lifestyles increase telomease, an enzyme that lengthens telomeres, the ends of our chromosomes that control how long we live.
It is like I always say. If you take care of the body the body will thrive, repair and regenerate as it is designed to. Like anything however if we abuse our equipment it can only survive and will age faster which is why we are seeing more and more cancers at earlier and earlier ages. I had a patient recently present with chronic fatigue, hot-flashes, dry skin, insomnia and if that was not bad enough she just had a hysterectomy and forced into early menopause b/c of the effects from chemo and radiation she went through for colon cancer. She was 29 years old and can never have children on her own. A disease that we could out last is now effecting people at earlier ages than ever before. We need to educate ourselves so that we are not victims of such preventable diseases.
